Plume vs upload-based tools

Most “free” online PDF tools send your files to a server. Plume never uploads them at all.

Questions, answered

How do I sign a PDF for free?+

Open your PDF above, create a signature (draw, type or upload an image), then click on the page to place it. Drag it where you want, resize, and click Sign & Download. It all happens in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

Is a drawn or typed signature legally valid?+

For most everyday documents, yes. A drawn or typed signature is an electronic signature, which is recognised under laws like the US ESIGN Act and EU eIDAS for ordinary agreements. Note it is a visible electronic signature, not a certificate-based cryptographic digital signature.

Are my document and signature uploaded anywhere?+

No. Your PDF and your signature are processed entirely inside your browser — nothing is sent to a server. You can even sign with your wifi switched off, which makes it well suited to contracts and other sensitive documents.

Can I draw, type, or upload my signature?+

All three. Draw it with a mouse, trackpad or finger; type your name and pick a handwriting font; or upload an existing signature image (a transparent PNG looks best).

Can I put my signature on more than one page?+

Yes. Place the signature on as many pages as you like — click each page to add it, then drag and resize each one independently before downloading.

Is it free, with no limits?+

Yes — unlimited, no sign-up, no watermark and no file-size limit.
