Plume

Terms of use

Plume is offered for free to help you work with PDFs privately. By using it, you agree to these straightforward terms.

Last updated July 2026

The service

Plume provides free PDF tools that run in your browser, plus one server-powered tool, the barcode generator, which renders the content you submit on our servers and applies a fair-use daily limit on free downloads. We offer them on a best-effort basis and may add, change or remove tools over time. Because the tools run on your own device, performance depends on your browser and hardware.

Acceptable use

Use Plume only for lawful purposes and only with files you have the right to process. Don’t attempt to disrupt, abuse or reverse-engineer the service in ways that harm others.

Your files & responsibility

Your documents are processed locally and are never uploaded to us. You remain solely responsible for keeping your own copies and backups. Always verify an output file before relying on it.

No warranty

Plume is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We don’t guarantee that the tools will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or for anything else that the law does not permit to be excluded. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected. Subject to that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, Plume and its maker are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the tools, including any loss of data. Because every PDF tool runs in your browser and your files never reach a server, keeping your own copy of anything important is the practical safeguard.
