HIBC Aztec generator.

Produce a HIBC Aztec symbol online with a live preview, no account needed. Aztec centers its finder pattern in a bullseye and, under ISO/IEC 24778, requires no quiet zone at all, so the printed square can sit flush against text and edges where every millimeter counts. Inside, the data is a normal Health Industry Bar Code primary string with the flag and check character applied for you.

HIBC on Aztec.

Standards-based quiet zones are always on. For production packaging, verify a printed sample with a barcode verifier.

Valid HIBC Aztec input

Give the generator the string between the HIBC delimiters: your HIBCC issued labeler code, the product or catalog number, and the unit of measure digit. Only the Code 39 repertoire is accepted (digits, capital letters, space, hyphen, period, dollar, slash, plus, percent), and validation checks characters, not structure, so an incorrect labeler code will still render. The framing plus and the computed check character are appended automatically; typing a plus of your own produces a double flagged string that no HIBC parser expects. The field takes up to 2048 characters, far beyond any legitimate use.

Where HIBC Aztec is used

  • Cramped layouts where quiet zone space simply does not exist
  • Sterile barrier packaging with dense mandatory text
  • Labels printed close to die cut edges

Common errors and how to fix them

HIBC Aztec Code must contain only digits, capital letters, spaces and the symbols -.$/+%
Hunt down the lowercase letter, umlaut or stray comma and rewrite it within the permitted set before regenerating.
Enter the content to encode.
The box is blank. Supply at least the labeler, product and unit portions of your primary string.
Content is too long (max 2048 characters).
Reduce the input below the 2048 cap. The symbol itself accepted 2048 letters in our probes, so the limit you hit is the field, not the code.

Size and printing

An Aztec symbol grows in square rings around its central bullseye, and because no quiet zone is required the printed footprint equals the dark grid itself; the sample previews at 162 by 162 pixels. That makes sizing predictable: the module count times your chosen module width in millimeters is exactly the space you need. Use the print presets for standard stocks, and prefer SVG when your artwork pipeline scales assets.

HIBC Aztec questions

Does an Aztec code need a quiet zone?

No. ISO/IEC 24778 requires none, which is the main reason to pick Aztec over Data Matrix or QR when the label leaves no white margin to spare.

Why put HIBC data on an Aztec code?

For flush placement on crowded labels. The identity content is identical across the HIBC carriers, so the choice comes down to space and what your scanners read.

What does a scanner see in a HIBC Aztec symbol?

The framed string, +A123BJC5D6E71G for the sample: plus flag, four character labeler, catalog number, unit digit and mod 43 check character.

Can I sell products labeled with these barcodes?

Yes. Downloads are cleared for commercial use, with 20 free files per UTC day in both raster and vector formats.
